  7. DOC (Dave's Own version of Citadel) Version 0.9b
  8. Welcome to the Iowa Student Computer Associaton BBS.

  10.   The system uses software called DOC - "Daves' Own Version of Citadel".
  11. This software is a complete rewrite of Citadel/UX and contains many new
  12. features as well.  It was written locally by David Lacey and David Nelson.
  13.  
  14.   In the file system, you can now use FTP as a download protocol, either to
  15. a PC in one of the Instructional Technology Centers at the University of
  16. Iowa or any account on the internet.
  17.  
  18.   University of Iowa students please note that Zmodem is the only protocol
  19. that works through the annex terminal servers.  We suggest using Telix 3.12
  20. on MS-DOS systems and ZTerm 0.85 on Macintosh computers.  Rlogin from the
  21. annex works better than telnet.  Type "r isca"
  22.  
  23.   If you made any mistakes in entering your user info, you can change this
  24. by typing [C]onfig at the main menu.

  26.   For those who have used Citadel in the past, you will find some minor
  27. differences in our version.  Type ? at the "room>" prompt to find out
  28. what keys do what.  There is a help file called "differences" that shows
  29. the major differences.  Also note that you can read all your new mail by
  30. just pressing the space bar.

  32.   Make yourself interesting - go into [C]onfig and enter some info about
  33. yourself so that others will know more about you.  You have 5 lines of
  34. space to write something creative.
